Amrix
Cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride (extended-release)
Amrix
Amrix is a once-daily skeletal muscle relaxant that helps relieve muscle spasms and pain associated with acute musculoskeletal conditions. Used in conjunction with rest and physical therapy, Amrix is a short-term therapy (2 to 3 weeks) that acts on the central nervous system and pain centers in the brain to help relieve the pain, stiffness, and range of motion limitations associated with muscle injuries.
Amrix has been shown to share certain properties with tricyclic antidepressants. Amrix may lead to central nervous system reactions in the same way that tricyclic antidepressants can cause serious reactions. Possible severe side effects of Amrix include:
- Heart attack
- Irregular heartbeat
- Rapid heartbeat
- Stroke
For more information, see our Amrix side effects page.
Amrix is used to relieve muscle spasms in patients with acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions. Amrix helps relax muscles and relieve the pain and stiffness associated with strains, sprains, and other muscle injuries.
