Typical Dosage Recommendations
Patients should take Cosopt exactly as prescribed by a doctor, as dosage recommendations differ for the treatment of various conditions.
Cosopt is distributed as a partially full container with a clear, slightly viscous liquid used as an eye drop. Each 18 ml Cosopt eye drop bottle contains 10 ml of solution.
Patients should wash their hands before using Cosopt.
Tilt your head back and pull down your bottom eyelid to form a pocket. Without touching the eye with the Cosopt bottle, dispense one drop of solution into each affected eye.
Patients should wait ten minutes between using Cosopt and any other eye medications or contact lenses.
Missing a Dose of Cosopt
If you miss a dose of Cosopt, take it as soon as you remember. If you are close to your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your normal dosage schedule. Do not take a double dose of this medicine.
Cosopt Overdose
It is unlikely you will overdose while being treated with Cosopt. However, if you feel you may have taken too much or begin to feel any negative side effects, consult your doctor immediately.

Cosopt carries a Black Box warning of the risk of negative withdrawal symptoms if Cosopt dosing is not properly discontinued. Patients discontinuing Cosopt treatment should slowly reduce their dosage over one to two weeks and limit their physical activity.
