Typical Dosage Recommendations
For women experiencing side effects of menopause or low levels of estrogen due to other conditions, Estrace should be taken in 1 to 2 mg tablets daily in a cyclical pattern (three weeks on, and one week off). The tablets should be inserted vaginally.
Estrace should be taken as 10 mg doses, three times a day for at least three months for patients undergoing treatment for breast cancer.
Estrace vaginal cream is applied once daily for two to four weeks, then for one to three times a week. Estrace should be used at the lowest dose possible for treatment only as long as needed because of the presence of estrogen hormones.
Missing a Dose of Estrace
If you miss a dose of Estrace, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and return to regular dosing. Do not take a double dose of this medication or apply additional cream to make up for a missed dose.
Estrace Overdose
Some common symptoms of Estrace overdose include:
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Vaginal bleeding
Patients should seek immediate medical attention if they have taken too much of this medication.
