Flonase Dosage Information:

Typical Dosage Recommendations

Patients should take Flonase exactly as prescribed by a doctor, as dosage recommendations differ for the treatment of various conditions.

For adults, Flonase treatment will initially start out with two sprays (50 mcg per spray) into each nostril daily. As symptoms begin to improve, your doctor may decrease your dose to one spray in each nostril daily. Do not exceed more than two sprays in each nostril a day.

For children 4 years of age and older, the initial dose will most likely begin with one spray in each nostril daily.

Prime your Flonase nasal spray by pumping it six times before initial use or until a fine spray comes out.

To use Flonase, patients should first blow their nose to clear their nostrils. Tilt your head forward and plug one nostril, keeping the Flonase bottle upright. Breathe in through your nose while simultaneously spraying your dose into your nostrils. When you have inhaled your entire dose, exhale through your mouth. Repeat if prescribed to do so.

Missing a Dose of Flonase

If you miss a dose of Flonase, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your normal dosage schedule. Do not take a double dose of this medicine.
