Requip Side Effects

Patients beginning treatment with Requip may experience nausea, lightheadedness, dizziness, fainting, or sweating when getting up too quickly from a lying position. Patients should rise up slowly placing their feet on the floor for a few minutes before standing up completely to avoid these symptoms.

Patients using Requip should notify their family members of the potential side effect for compulsive behavior during Requip treatment. Family members and friends should monitor patients being treated with Requip for compulsive gambling, sexual, or eating behaviors.

What to Avoid When Taking the Drug: 

Avoid driving a car or doing any activity that requires you to be alert before you know how Requip will affect you.

Alcohol may increase your chances of feeling sleepy while being treated with Requip. Avoid drinking when you need to be awake.

Take Requip with food to avoid nausea.
