Helen Gonzalez, a passionate advocate for newborns and their parents, is a registered nurse who holds a certificate in neonatal intensive care nursing.
The certification requires a significant amount of insight into a specialized medical practice and notable experience as a professional health-care worker.
Candidates must pass a certification exam and maintain continuing education credits throughout the year.
Helen is passionate about helping new parents learn about their babies and is determined to make a difference for our tiniest patients.
She was educated in Canada and soon after moved to Texas to continue her career.
Helen completed an emergency room internship program and worked for three years in Dallas, where she honed her skills in a busy downtown emergency department in the state’s largest metropolitan area.
She then decided to try travel nursing and ended up in Florida while working in several emergency rooms along the way.
Central Florida has become her home and she is currently working in a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
She has worked on discharge planning, developmental-care committees, employee retention and has a certificate in lactation. She is an ardent supporter of breastfeeding.
