And right now, we’re turning to a story that has been trending for some time now. I know many of you have heard about the weight loss drug Ozempic, but now oats Ozempic is trending. It’s an oat drink containing rolled oats, one cup of water, cinnamon, and lime juice. It does not, however, contain any Ozempic medication. Joining us live this morning to break down this new trend is weight loss doctor at Drug Watch, doctor Eldad Inaaf. Thank you so much for joining us. Good morning to you. Thank you for having me. So I will tell you, when I saw that this was trending, I did try it. Now I’m not trying to take Ozempic and take it away from those that need it. You know, it is a diabetic medication. But oatzezempic seemed to be that, what you need to do as far as, you know, being holistic, it’s whole, oats that people would use for oatmeal, and then it was water. But for me, it tasted horrible. I think it’s the lime juice aspect. How did this come around? Who came up with this? Is this truly good for weight loss? Well, this has started with social media, of course. Social media is great for, propagating all sorts of fads and and all sorts of ideas. Some of them have zero merit. But think about it. It’s very, I think the copywriting is amazing. Oats, empek, it sounds like, Ozempek. Right? It sounds like a a great solution. It’s oats, which is, you know, fiber and natural. And Ozempic means you lose a lot of weight. So that’s a great copywriter, copywriting idea. But when it comes to really, merit or facts, this is a little bit I don’t think if I will, advise that. I will actually advise against it, not because it, will do a lot of harm. It’s just gonna mostly the harm’s gonna be for your long term health and weight and also for your psyche because people are going to, be disappointed. And that’s why we have you here. You’re the expert because, you know, sometimes people see these trending things, and they just go for it. And, again, I did try the drink as it is holistic. It’s not any medications in it. Another thing I saw some people saying was that, it was like a meal replacement. But for me, when I tried this, I was still hungry a few hours later. So for one person who might try this and then they wanna try to get a burger from Wendy’s or the four for four, I mean, you’re still left hungry afterwards. So I guess you would need to continue to make, proper decisions for weight loss after you do this drink. Because this is not a solution for weight loss. And I would say this is what I saw in social media. It’s in combination with fasting. So they have each one has different fasting regimens. Some include or incorporate some physical activity. Of course, even if you drink water instead of Ozempic or you do any other drink, that would make you lose weight because you are in a a energy deficit. Right? So when you’re fasting, you’re taking oat zempic that would give you some quick fix maybe if you can tolerate the horrible taste of it. Right? So and you need to tolerate it for what they say is two months to get this impressive weight loss. I don’t I don’t think I can do that, but I can think of different drinks that would be more nutrient, have more nutrient in in this, and you can lose weight more responsibly. This is actually lacks nutrients other than oat and lemon or lime, and it will, if you stick to it for a long time, yes, it will create weight loss by reducing the intake of calories, but this is not sustainable. This is nothing you can last nothing that would last a significant amount. And we know that if you do anything that is not for a long time and not sufficient enough, it will not make you lose weight long term. The problem is not Ozempic. The problem is you are seeking a quick fix, and you are pursuing all those quick fix or magazine diets, and this is going to without an without exclusions, that would going to point you long term. Yes. You may lose few pounds over the short time, but that’s not a healthy weight loss. This is not gonna be sustained over time. There’s so many research about this. This is a good example of a fad diet, and you can you can do any diet like that. Do we have watermelon diet? We have, we have other examples of drinks and potions and all of that that you can military diet. Right? All of that could last it gives you, kind of the energy to start something new, but this is seeking weight loss in a wrong way and, not going to sustain over time. Absolutely. Well, doctor El Dodd, before I let you go, the looming question that the viewers wanna know, since this is not the best way for weight loss, what is with your professional expertise, is there a best weight loss diet to do? Is there a best weight loss regimen to do? You mentioned not doing the potions and anything that’s trending. Do what’s best and healthy for your body. What is the best way to do that? But is not the answer. It is not the answer, and you heard it from the professional. And I put that there on the, side of me there so that people can see what Oatsempic is if they’re just now tuning in. Doctor El Dottie, now it’s truly a pleasure speaking with you this morning.
