Heather Ipema, PharmD, BCPS is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor with the Drug Information Group at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Pharmacy.

Dr. Ipema received her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the UIC College of Pharmacy. She completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency in 2009 and a PGY2 drug information specialty residency in 2010, both at the UIC College of Pharmacy.

Dr. Ipema is a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist. She regularly provides teaching and training to pharmacy students and residents on a variety of topics including finding primary literature, literature evaluation, evidence-based medicine, and using literature in clinical practice. Dr. Ipema’s areas of interest include medical writing, medical editing, literature evaluation, and formulary management.
