Suboxone film has been tied to dental injuries, degradation in dental health. And there have been studies over the past several years that link usage specifically of Suboxone film to that type of an injury. The studies haven’t really gotten so far as to say how those injuries are happening, but it’s hypothesized that the film creates a high acidic atmosphere in your mouth or anybody who’s using it, which results in tooth decay. Suboxone historically has come in several different delivery systems. Originally, it was your traditional pill and then, Indivior, the manufacturer of Suboxone, was going to lose their patent on that particular delivery process. And in order to keep market exclusivity, they switched over to, the film. And the film is the delivery system that’s primarily responsible, we believe, for the tooth injuries we’re seeing in our client base. Suboxone film came onto the market around twenty twelve, twenty thirteen, and we believe that at that time the manufacturer, Endeavor, was aware that it could result in, dental health issues for the patients that were using it. It wasn’t until about twenty eighteen or twenty nineteen that information started to come to the forefront that it was gonna really be a problem. And then in twenty twenty two, the FDA issued a warning saying that the Suboxone film looks like it could result in dental health issues. And then the FDA in June of that same year directed Indivior to put a warning on their product, stating as such.
