Katherine Sarna, PharmD, BCPS is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Pharmacy Drug Information Group (DIG).

Prior to joining the DIG, Sarna received her PharmD degree from Midwestern University and completed a PGY1 pharmacy residency in Chicago at Rush University Medical Center and a PGY2 specialty residency in drug information at the DIG.

At the UIC DIG, her routine tasks involve authoring drug class reviews, responding to clinicians’ drug information requests, updating drug-interaction alerts for mental health hospital databases, coordinating and teaching courses at UIC College of Pharmacy, and precepting PGY1 pharmacy residents.

Sarna has lectured on a variety of medical information topics, including drug information resources, evidence-based medicine, literature evaluation, trial design, and medical writing.
